Optimize every title in your catalogue

FeedArc rewrites titles at scale with AI and feed rules — brand-first structure, the right length per channel, no promo text — and keeps them compliant on every regeneration, so weak titles never cost you clicks or approvals.

What this checker looks at

Length against the 150-character Google Shopping limit and the 50–60 character sweet spot (short titles under-describe the product and correlate with near-zero CTR; text past ~60 characters is usually truncated in results). Formatting traps: ALL-CAPS and HTML in descriptions. And the policy traps that cause disapprovals — promotional wording in titles or descriptions, checked with the exact same pattern our feed validator uses.

Title and description issues are a recurring cause of Google Merchant Center disapprovals. To check every product at once, run your file through the free feed validator.

Frequently asked questions

How long should a Google Shopping product title be?

The hard limit is 150 characters, but only roughly the first 60–70 are shown in results. Aim for 50–60 characters: long enough to carry brand, product type, and the key attributes (model, colour, size), short enough to avoid truncation. Very short titles (under ~30 characters) under-describe the product and correlate with near-zero click-through even at good positions.

What should go first in the title?

Front-load what users search for: a proven pattern is Brand + Product Type + Key Attributes (model, colour, size, material). Anything past the visible cut-off still helps matching but is not seen, so the words that win the click must come first. Avoid burying the product type behind long brand prefixes or codes.

Why is promotional text a problem?

Google’s product data specification prohibits promotional wording — price, sale text, shipping claims (“free shipping”, “best price”, “buy now”) — in titles and descriptions. It is one of the recurring Merchant Center disapproval causes. Promotions belong in the dedicated sale_price and shipping attributes, or in Merchant promotions, never in the title.

Does ALL CAPS really hurt?

Yes — excessive capitalization is explicitly flagged by Google as untrustworthy formatting and can lead to disapproval. Use normal sentence or title case; capitalize acronyms and model codes only where genuinely correct (e.g. “4K”, “USB-C”).
